Museo del Oro - The Museum of Gold

The Museo del Oro (The Golden Museum), is located in the downtown of Bogota city, capital of Colombia, and possesses one of the world's biggest collections of Gold. Museo del Oro houses a unique collection of more than 10,000 items. The museum was started by the Banco de la Republica (central bank of Colombia), in 1939 to preserve the best remaining jewelry and ornaments of the Pre-Colombian era. The Pre-Colombian culture left us this gift or legacy which show their art, material and spiritual richness
